Dear Students,

Welcome to Dr. D. Y. Patil School of Liberal Arts. It’s a new beginning for all of you here and you will be embarking on a new journey that will open a world of opportunities for you. In short, you have crossed another milestone in your life. Your tomorrows are full of promises and, a whole new horizon awaits you at Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth (DPU). Over the next couple of days and weeks, you will discover that you have entered a lively, challenging, diverse, and warm community

Our School of Liberal Arts is built on the foundation of the classical tradition, our dance programs in Kathak, Bharat Natyam, Nritya yoga, Dance and Choreography will help students become multifaceted and empowered artists. Our cutting-edge curriculum honors traditions in dance, while exploring a wide range of methods and styles. Our unique resources and guidance help dancers develop as whole artists those who are well-rounded, culturally aware, and fully engaged in mind, body, and spirit. The school's mission is to provide the highest caliber of artistic education for gifted dancers, and from around the country so that they may achieve their fullest potential as artists, leaders, and global citizens. Acareer in Art is something that attracts people who are passionate about their skills and talent. It can be an extremely rewarding career and is chosen by those who strictly follow their passion. As such attending a reputed School like the Dr. D. Y. Patil School of Liberal Arts can open doors to different roles and positions in the industry. It is a career that has no fixed route and highly depends on one’s strengths, skills, and a very strong connection with the industry itself.

At DPU, give your best to whatever you are doing in life and do not waver from the determined path. It will be difficult no doubt but try to focus and be in control of your mind. Speaking about the mind, let me refer to the second chapter of the Bhagwad Gita. In one of the shlokas, it says, “Let your concern be with action alone, and never with the fruits of action. Do not let the results of action be your motive, and do not be attached to inaction. “No doubt, you will have to surmount many difficulties and face many defeats in life, but never let yourselves be defeated in your quest for knowledge and in search of a new life and achieving your goals.

Before I conclude, I want to express that I feel a tremendous sense of excitement and anticipation as we embark on this journey together. Best wishes for the work I know you will do to make this wonderful institution even better.
